Historical records show that Gonubie was registered as a township in 1927, and the oldest building records we can find show that GONUBIE BUTCHERY opened in 1930!
90 years ago previous owners started trading at the original premises on Main Road and we still operate with the original reputation for the supply of quality meats, at reasonable prices, and aim to provide excellent customer service.
In 2017 GONUBIE BUTCHERY moved to a custom-designed modern facility at the Gonubie Mall (next to Kings Mall), which is at the entrance of Gonubie and is easily accessible to all. Now we are locally known as the “TOP Butchery”.
In 2019, the current owners took over the butchery and we gave it a makeover not only in terms of the look but in terms of product and service offering. Now you can find the best biltong bar in town, premium meats cut exactly to your specification, pre-packed fresh and frozen meats, deli products, convenience meals, accompaniments and more on our shelves – plus our lovely team is always ready to have a chat and help you out!
In years gone by your only meat supplier was your local butcher, and whilst today with convenience shopping everyone has access to meat at any time, we at GONUBIE BUTCHERY continue to focus on being your traditional butchery experience, offering you great quality meat and personalised service, whilst being engaged with the needs of our customers and community.
